My Mommy Must Haves (6-9 Months)

Here is a list of some items I found to be very useful for the fun, interactive, never-stop-moving stage that is 6-9 months!

TOYS

Musical Lion Walker

This is perfect, even when baby hasn't even begun to stand, because the front of the walker is a little activity station. Eventually, baby will get the courage to stand and you can assist them while they hold the bar. At first, Levi was a little scared of this.. only because a girl in church pulled it from under him and he fell. So that was his memory, haha. After about a month of being scared he started pulling himself up, but not moving anywhere. Which is fine, he's learning little by little! Eventually we taught him how to push it forward around 10 months. But again, I think there is no harm in getting this in the earlier stage of 6-9 months because it teaches them things one step at a time (no pun intended).

Activity Table

This is something baby will enjoy when they can stand, which Levi did around 8 months. Even when babies are walkers, they will still play with this (take it from someone who nannied).

MEAL TIME

Bib with pocket
If you've started feeding your baby finger foods, you will know exactly why that little pocket is so great. Let's just say, when we leave restaurants, I wish we had a Dirt Devil to clean up the mountain of tiny bites on the floor. This bib helps break some of the fall. Then, when baby has cleared their tray, you just dump the fallen pieces back onto the tray. Reuse, renew, recycle ;)

Placemat with pocket
This placemat gives you even MORE assistance in not drowning in baby crumbs. It is washable and reusable. Perfect for eating out! Once your child has reached the realization they can throw things overboard, there is nothing that can help you then. Just patience and prayer haha.

Nuby Sippy Cup
Start using a sippy cup of water with baby in this stage (just a few sips here and there, babies don't need a lot of water at this age). Babies should be working towards weaning off of using a bottle at one year and will transition into sippy cups. We really prefer the ones by Nuby, because of the spout, its plyable silicone is easier for baby when first making this transition. I've tried the other cups with Levi that have the hard plastic spout and he wants nothing to do with them. This is not to say all babies will be that way, but I really think this is more comfortable to him. Also, Levi likes to bite on it for fun.

Here is a picture of Levi enjoying his Nuby cup...

CLOTHING

Roobez

Roobez shoes are pretty high up on my baby priority list, and will continue to be probably until 18 months. I cannot say enough good things about these shoes. They are flexible, soft, and come in SO many cute styles. Babies have a hard enough trying to learn to walk as it is, don't impede their progress by putting hard soled, stiff shoes on them just yet. These shoes allow them to feel like they are walking bare foot, but the leather soles give them enough grip to not slip. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. I want 20 more pairs!

Not the best picture to show displaying Levi's Roobez, but as you can see, we wear them everywhere!

Pajamas WITH textured soles (we prefer Carter's)

By the time baby begins to pull up on things, it's a good idea to have PJ's that have rubber soles. I could not find a picture to save my life of the bottom of the soles on Carter's PJ's. Out of all the footed pajamas I've seen, Carter's has the best gripped feet in my opinion. Also, I love the feel of these PJ's, especially the fleece ones for winter time. We have other brand PJ's and I have just found to love these ones most, especially because of the slip resistant soles. But regardless of what brand you choose, be sure there is some sort of grip on the bottom of the footies because it will help baby with balance and stability when they are learning to stand up and eventually walk! PS we are not Carter's snobs (we only get them when on sale, because they are a little pricey), Levi has plenty of other PJs and even ones without a gripped sole... and when he wears those he is falling down all the time haha.

Thanks for reading! This stage is so fun!
