Little Levi: 1 Month Old

Hi world! Levi here.

Can you believe I am one month old already? My parents sure can't! I know the time is going by especially fast for my Daddy because he goes to work all day and only sees me a few hours in the evenings and on the weekends. He feels like I grow from the time he leaves in the morning to when he gets home. I am growing like a weed. I went to my one month check up and I am now 22 1/4" (I was 21" at birth) and weigh 9lbs 11oz (I weighed 9lbs at birth). I am in the 75th percentile for height, 50th for weight and 25-50th for head circumference. The nurse was very impressed by my smiling and ability to track objects with my eyes at my age.

As far as my sleeping habits, I am still in limbo about whether or not I want to sleep a full 6-7 hours at night or not. Some nights I wake up for a late night snack and some nights I make it til 5 or 6am. Regardless of what I do, I go back down for my early morning nap around 6:30/7am and sleep until 9:30/10. Then after that feeding I go back down for my next nap at 11/11:30 and sleep until about 1 or 2pm. Mommy really enjoys my first nap, because it means she gets to sleep in, too! She also enjoys my second nap because if she's REALLY exhausted she'll nap then, also, but usually she uses that time to get things done around the house. After this nap I eat and then it's my hang out/play time. I will cat nap off and on while Mommy just hangs out with me, or we go on a walk or run errands. Then after my dinner feeding Mommy and Daddy work extra hard to keep me up until my night time feed at 10pm. I usually can stay awake the whole time, I might take a 30 minute cat nap out in the open. This "wake time" ensures I'll be nice and sleepy after my 10pm feed which is why I sleep through the night sometimes! How did this schedule come to be, you ask? Mommy found a sleep/eating schedule method created by Dr. Denmark. We have modified it a little bit to fit my needs, but it's teaching me to learn my days from nights and it's helping to create a happy household for all of us. I haven't quite mastered the schedule yet, but that's ok.. I will when I'm ready! Mommy will do a blog post all about this method once we really get the hang of it (it also switches at 3 months). What we're doing now is the newborn routine. More on that later.

Reverting back to my growth... I have already outgrown some of my newborn size outfits. Some of them I only got to wear once! I can fit into some 0-3 month and 3 month sizes (only the onesies).

Something cute I've started doing is mocking people sticking their tongue out. See the video here...

My family from Florida came to see me right when I turned one month old. My Mommy's Dad, Step Mom (Michele), brother Justin, his girlfriend Julia, and sisters Jordan and Jadyn were all here. They stayed in a hotel a few minutes away and we saw them for 3 days. They thought I was the cutest thing ever!

Now let's take a look at how I've changed in my one month of existence...

1 Week Old

2 Weeks Old

3 Weeks Old

4 Weeks Old

At 1 month old I am still looking just like my Daddy. He doesn't see the resemblance, but he must be crazy because everyone else does! He says he sees my Mommy in me, but I don't see it (nor do others).

Well, that's all I can think of for now! Talk to you guys when I'm 2 months old!

Love,

Levi
