Love & Respect
Ok I feel that I need to clear the air a little bit...
I know some of my previous posts have been a little passionate, to say the least. And maybe offensive to some. Or at least you were given the impression of me being haughty or arrogant in my opinions. Please know that while I am passionate about how I'd like to labor, I do not condemn the way any other woman chooses to labor. Heck, regardless of what methods you chose, you delivered a baby (or some of you C-section mamas had to undergo major surgery and recovery). And I have major props to any woman who has gone through this "right of passage". So PLEASE understand that. I don't think anyone is less of a woman if they choose to have an epidural. I don't think you are stupid for choosing to birth in a hospital. You are doing what is best for you and your baby, and at the end of that day, that's what matters. With that mindset, I am choosing the route that Jake and I feel is the best for us and our baby. Your birth experience is just that, your experience. I would never ask you to have it any other way. If you had an amazing hospital birth (with our without meds), I am so happy for you, you have no idea! If you had a euphoric birth with a great team of doctors and nurses and have no regrets, I honestly could NOT be happier for you. What a great thing to remember and enjoy for the rest of your life! But I do know moms who deeply regret their birthing experience and would change many things about it, and for them my heart is saddened.. because most of what they experienced could of been avoided or done differently. The birth of your child is something that can never be redone, and it is for that reason that I am so passionate about how I want my labor to be. And I'm sure you have dreams and expectations of how you want your labor to be. So it is with love and respect that I share this with you. We may have to agree to disagree about labor choices, but as moms, we all love our babies to pieces and will always do what we feel personally is best for our children.. that is something we can agree on.

Jessica, your passion is what has made me seriously consider and look into natural births! Thank you so much! We are hoping to get pregnant with our second as soon as the Lord sees fit. We are stoked! For the record, I never thought you were arrogant or haughty about your birth experience. I think you're excited! And that excitement is contagious! Wishing you rest in your final weeks of pregnancy.
