Levi's Room

Ok, finally I am ready to share what Levi's room looks like! We had it pretty close to done before he arrived, but we just recently (like last week) put his crib together because it was missing parts. Before that he was sleeping in here in his Pack 'n Play. But now, the crib is together and I'm ready to show it off!

Here is what you see when you first walk in...

This is the left wall. The shelves are 2x4 plywood pieces that we stained. We put shelf brackets on them and made our own shelves. We got this dresser on Craigslist and it was a great find, it was already painted white which was just what I wanted! We use the top of it as a diaper changing station. I have 2 diaper changing covers, the chevron one you see in the picture and a soft, fuzzy brown one.

This is the center wall, the only wall painted blue. I really love this blue, it isn't as navy as it looks in the pictures, it's more cobalt. Above the crib is the picture I hand painted (with some help from Jake), but I stenciled it myself and I LOVE it. The curtains are supposed to look like a burlap material. They are lined on the back to block out light, which is so awesome. To the right is Levi's hamper. There is an empty space on the left of the crib. Still trying to figure out what I will put there. I also plan on getting a grey and white chevron crib skirt on Etsy, just haven't gotten it yet.

This is the right wall. I still am not 100% happy with it yet. It still seems empty to me. But this works for now! On top of his book shelf is his sound machine (on the right) and his Angel Care monitor (on the left). Books and toys are what fill up the cubbies.

Here is a closer look at what is above the book shelf. The 4 panels are white canvas boards that you find at any craft store and I put scrapbook paper on top using Mod Podge. I choose every color that I was trying to incorporate into the room: tan/brown, green, navy and yellow. The "L" is something I made. It is cardboard that I cut out in the shape of an "L" and I wrapped it in yellow yarn. The "deer head" was my idea, but my parents helped with it. It is one of those gold reindeer sold at Michael's around Christmas and we cut the head off, painted it white and my dad made the little plaque and glued it on. Cool huh?

Here is the view when standing to the left of the crib looking toward the door. That wall next to the door just contains closet doors, and a picture of Jake (see below). Also my cute diaper bag (thanks Manda Poo!).

Daddy and one of his kills... something for Levi to look forward to when he gets bigger!

Here is a closer look at the shelves. The items beginning on top shelf from left to right: Jake's first pellet gun from when he was little, a buffalo jaw bone (don't ask.. Jake had to have it), a vintage bicycle parts tin and a picture of me when I was pregnant with Jake. Bottom shelf from left to right: custom art made by friends given to me at baby shower, mossy "L", a wooden hand-crafted "Jesus Loves Me" art piece given to me at baby shower, redneck bottle (it's a mason jar with a nipple on it lol), and a vintage Cracker Jack tin we found at a garage sale.

Here is the angle from the right...

This is a close up of what is on the dresser. A Remington ammo box (we keep things like extra wipes, lotion, hair brush, and finger nail clippers in here), with some owl stuff on top. An owl lamp with burlap shade, a stuffed owl and a tiny ceramic owl (you can barely see it but it's there in the front). Mommy loves owls! If you're wondering what the white thing is with the heart on the front, it's a wipe warmer.

Here's a closer look at the top of the dresser. Underneath the items is a green table runner I got on Amazon. I wanted to add a pop of green on the white and this was the best way to do it. It also helps to prevent the dresser from getting scratched on top :)

Here is what we have on the right of the shelves. It's a tin sign we got in Asheville at the Mast General Store.

And here is another look with just the lamp on and not the ceiling fan light. It's more dim and "cozy".

There are a few other things I'd like to do like get a crib skirt, a rug and a few other decor pieces, but I am very happy with how it turned out! Unfortunately we couldn't fit his glider in here that was given to us (it's a cream color), but we keep it in our living room which actually works out because it adds seating in there.

Hope you guys like it! I couldn't imagine how nut-so I would of gone if we had a girl ;)
